The Interdisciplinary Thematic Platform “Open Heritage: Research and Society” (PTI-PAIS), coordinated from Instituto de Química Física Rocasolano, has received a very positive assessment from the Scientific Advisory Committee.

The Interdisciplinary Thematic Platforms (PTIs) constitute an instrument of research and innovation, created from the CSIC 2021 Strategic Plan, to tackle interdisciplinary challenges of high scientific, economic, and social impact. They are integrated by research groups from different CSIC centres and open to the participation of companies, administrations, social agents and other institutions.

The Interdisciplinary Thematic Platform “Open Heritage: Research and Society” (PTI-PAIS), coordinated from Instituto de Química Física Rocasolano, has received a very positive assessment from the Scientific Advisory Committee and the Governing Council of CSIC of the first year of its implementation phase. The evaluation has taken into account indicators of Relevance, Capabilities, Advances in the Workplan/Management and Results. After this evaluation PTI-PAIS sits in a relevant and favourable position for the continuity of its objectives: the conservation and dissemination of cultural heritage through innovative and interdisciplinary scientific-technical research.

PTI-PAIS is coordinated by Dr. Marta Castillejo from the Laser Laboratory for Heritage Science (LLHS) of IQFR, and is constituted by 10 CSIC research groups and 35 associated entities (companies, institutions, museums, educational entities and others) in charge of the study, custody, management and preservation of tangible cultural heritage.
