This review article discusses the impact of AlphaFold2 and how this machine learning program can work together with NMR spectroscopy to advance protein structural biology.

AlphaFold2 is an advanced machine learning program that has revolutionized protein structural biology as it produces accurate structural models for two-thirds of the human proteome. While it is unsuccessful at predicting the impacts of mutation, post-translational modifications or ligand binding, this information can be obtained using NMR spectrosocpy.
