JULIO PALACIOS IV SYMPOSIUM: COSMOS SCIENCES

Space sciences cover a series of multidisciplinary research fields, of which we can highlight observational astronomy (terrestrial and space) - with the recent launch of the James Webb telescope - astrobiology, astrophysics, astrogeology, planetary sciences and cosmology, among others. Although the possibility of an interstellar trip to the closest star to our Solar System is still an entelechy, space sciences have the possibility of detecting exo-planets (planets that orbit a star outside our Solar System), studying the molecules of interstellar space – an ideal laboratory of low temperatures and zero pressure – as well as spectra and origin of astronomical objects to study their composition. Cosmology (κόσμος, /kosmos/, “cosmos, order”, and λογια, /logia/, “treatise, study”) is the branch of astronomy that studies the universe as a whole and its origin, from whose study fascinating unknowns such as dark matter, dark energy, or life forms other than those on Earth. In this IV Symposium aimed at the study of the Cosmos we intend to invite expert speakers in the various branches of Space Sciences in order to obtain answers and explanations at a scientific and academic level of issues related to space and the great enigmas of the Universe, issues that concern us as a whole society.
